Harford County Wanted List
The official HCSO 10 Most Wanted page is a photo-bearing public-safety list maintained by the Harford County Sheriff’s Office. Although its name says “10,” research on August 24, 2026 found eight profiles. The reviewed page showed a last-modified date of August 23, 2024 and did not promise a daily, weekly, or monthly refresh. Count and status can change whenever HCSO adds, clears, or replaces a profile.
This is not a full list of Harford County warrants. It is curated to help the public recognize selected people and send tips. A profile can remain visible after circumstances change, so record the date of the check. Do not infer that a person still lives near a listed location or remains wanted solely from an old image. For current custody, use Maryland VINE or confirm with HCSO.
Harford Fugitive Listing Fields
Profiles are short identification records, not complete case files. Fields vary, and blank details should not be guessed. Read the live profile and use the court docket to distinguish the allegation from its later outcome.
| Field | What it may show |
|---|---|
| Photograph | The agency image selected for identification, not proof of current custody. |
| Name | The name published by HCSO. Confirm spelling before another search. |
| Wanted for | A charge, offense description, or warrant basis stated at publication. |
| Age and description | Age, sex/race, or physical details when supplied. |
| Last-known information | An area or location detail that may no longer be current. |
The photographs stay on the sheriff’s site. They are not copied into a gallery, which keeps each image beside HCSO’s wording, safety notice, and updates.
Use Harford Wanted Profiles Safely
A careful review separates recognition from verification. Never follow, confront, call, or try to detain a listed person. An old profile does not authorize private action.
- Open the HCSO wanted page and note the date, displayed count, and exact profile wording.
- Compare only published identifying details. Do not post an unverified address or spread a claim online.
- Send a recognized person’s location and safety facts through the HCSO tip line or P3.
- Call 911 only for immediate danger. HCSO says social media and email are not monitored around the clock.
- For a later arrest, check dated custody status instead of treating the wanted page as a jail roster.
A capture becomes a county booking event if the person is processed at HCDC. County custody and photo routes are covered on the Harford County busted mugshots home page.
Harford Fugitive Tips
HCSO gives residents two ways to report a wanted person. Call directly, or send a tip without your name. Don't count on a reward, though. Payments aren't offered for every profile, so money should never be the reason you call. What helps most is detail. Note where you saw the person, when, and which way they went. Add anything that poses an immediate danger. From there, the job belongs to trained officers. Contacting and detaining a fugitive is work for them, not the public.

Harford's sheriff does not run a standing "Warrant Wednesday" feature. Wanted-person posts do appear elsewhere. Look for them on the agency's Facebook page and other official channels, though only a select few fugitives make the cut. Treat each post as a snapshot. A social media item can stick around long after the status it described has changed.
Note: Keep the original date and official link with any social post you save, because its details can outlive the warrant it first described.
Two Harford Warrant Products
The county offers two filtered warrant sources. One is the wanted page, which spotlights selected photo profiles and asks for tips. The other is the HCSO open-warrants page, which lists only unserved HCSO warrants that have been active for six months or longer. That page states it refreshes weekly.
| Official product | Scope | Timing and limits |
|---|---|---|
| 10 Most Wanted | Selected photo profiles for identification and tips | No fixed refresh promise; eight appeared at the research check |
| Open Warrants | Unserved HCSO warrants active at least six months | Weekly; excludes newer and non-HCSO warrants |
| Maryland Case Search | Selected Maryland court summaries | Not a warrant database or complete clerk file |
| Maryland VINE | Custody status and alerts | Not a warrant list or photo gallery |
A name missing from the list proves nothing. A warrant might be brand new. It could be already served, recalled, issued by another county, or simply screened out. By the same token, a listed warrant does not mean the person is sitting in the Harford County Detention Center. Treat these lists as leads, not verdicts on anyone's status.
Check a Harford County Warrant
Start with the scope notice on the warrant page. Then verify what you find through an official channel before acting on it. One thing this check never involves is contacting the subject. It also offers no advice on dodging service. Don't look for that here.
- Search HCSO’s open-warrants page with its current name controls. Reset old terms first.
- Record the exact result and date. Treat it as a lead because updates are weekly.
- Call the Apprehension/Warrants Unit at 410-836-5457 to verify an HCSO result.
- Use Maryland Case Search for a related docket, not as a complete warrant database.
- Contact the responsible court clerk for the complete file. An affected person should speak with the court or an attorney about lawful resolution.
Where a warrant lands depends on the charge. Harford District Court handles most misdemeanors, some felonies, and traffic matters. The more serious cases and appeals move up to Circuit Court. When you need the definitive answer, the actual court document governs.
Harford Warrant Terms
Not every result on the HCSO page carries a type label. That gap is one more reason the underlying court record matters more than any summary you find online.
- Arrest warrant
- A court command allowing law enforcement to arrest a named person based on stated process.
- Bench warrant
- A warrant often issued after a missed court duty or failure to follow an order.
- Out-of-county warrant
- Process originating outside Harford County that HCSO may handle.
- Disposition
- The later court result, which may differ from the first charge description.
For context, HCSO's 2023 report counted 2,936 warrants received and 2,156 served. That is a 73 percent service rate. Criminal warrants made up 2,400 of the total, with 1,840 served. Out-of-county warrants added 536 more, of which 316 were served. Annual figures like these describe workload, not who is wanted right now.
Harford Custody and Court Status
A wanted listing, a warrant hit, a custody record, and a court disposition are four different things. Someone can land on a wanted page before any arrest happens. Once Harford County Detention Center processes a person, Maryland VINE may show a dated custody status. Release ends that custody. The booking record itself sticks around.
Maryland VINE is the documented route for HCDC custody alerts. Notices arrive by phone, text, app, email, and TTY. Events covered include release and transfer. Note: VINE is not a warrant database and does not promise a booking photo. Pick the right facility. Confirm it says Harford County Detention Center. Note the time you searched, since custody can shift fast. HarCo Mobile is a county news and notification app. Its official description lists no inmate search, no wanted-person search, and no booking-photo feature.
Search the Maryland court docket with an exact name plus corroborating details. Charges get amended, reduced, dismissed, placed on stet, or resolved by acquittal. If the online summary looks thin, the clerk's file controls the record. Case Search results can show a name, city and state, case number, birth date, trial date, charge, and disposition. The public summary is not the authoritative file. Juvenile, sealed, shielded, expunged, or otherwise restricted matters will not appear. When two people share a name, match the case number, court, and date before linking a wanted profile to a docket entry.
Need the courthouse directly? Harford District Court sits at 2 South Bond Street in Bel Air, reachable at 410-836-4545. The Harford Circuit Court clerk is at 20 West Courtland Street, reachable at 410-638-3426 for matters in that court.
One more wrinkle: an online case can vanish from view after certain outcomes or relief. An old wanted image can also linger in a cached or copied spot long after the warrant is cleared. The sound rule is simple. Verify the warrant with HCSO or the responsible court. Verify custody through a dated source. Read the court disposition on its own. None of those checks replaces another.
